Girija Vaidyanathan, born on July 1, 1959, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1981 Tamil Nadu cadre. She holds graduate and postgraduate degrees in Physics. Throughout her career, she served in various capacities including District Collector, Joint Secretary, Commissioner, Secretary, and Additional Chief Secretary. Her most recent position was Chief Secretary to the Government in the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department from December 22, 2016, to June 30, 2019. Her extensive experience spans roles such as Chairperson and Managing Director, Member Secretary, and Vigilance Commissioner, reflecting a diverse administrative portfolio in Tamil Nadu.
