G V Krishna Rau, born on 30 July 1954, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1982 Karnataka cadre. He holds a postgraduate degree in Geology. Throughout his career, he has held numerous positions including Commissioner, Additional Chief Secretary & Development Commissioner, Principal Secretary, Secretary to Governor, Chairman, Managing Director, Executive Director, Project Director, Director, Land Development Officer, Chief Secretary (Zila Parishad), Deputy Commissioner, Deputy Secretary, Controller, Manager, and Assistant Commissioner. As of 9 October 2025, he serves as the Recovery Commissioner at Karnataka. He is proficient in English, Hindi, Kannada, and Telugu.
