G V Kongawad, born on April 3, 1952, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1990 Karnataka cadre. He held various key positions including Secretary in the Department of Commerce and Industry from November 9, 2011, to April 30, 2012. Throughout his career, he served as Secretary, Managing Director, Chairman and Managing Director, Deputy Commissioner, Director, and Chief Executive Officer. He holds academic qualifications in law (LL.B.), graduate English, and postgraduate English. His extensive administrative experience spans multiple leadership roles across government departments.
