G S Bains, born on February 8, 1937, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1983 batch, Punjab cadre. He held the position of Director in the Land Revenue Department, serving as Director of Census Operations from December 1, 1993, to February 1, 1995. His educational background includes a postgraduate degree and a graduate degree in English. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities, including Deputy Secretary, Deputy Commissioner, Joint Secretary, Secretary, Additional Deputy Commissioner, and Junior Scale officer.
