G Ramakrishnan, born on 10 October 1945, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1984 Tamil Nadu cadre. He holds a Diploma in Sociology and a Graduate degree in Economics. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including District Collector, Commissioner, Secretary to the Chief Minister, and Additional Secretary. His most recent position was Secretary to the Governor in the Department of Home from 7 February 2005 to 31 October 2005. He has also held roles such as Private Secretary, Project Coordinator, Joint Commissioner, and Managing Director among others during his tenure in the IAS.
