G R Virdi, born on September 10, 1942, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1973 Gujarat cadre. He holds a graduate degree in English. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Assistant Collector, Additional Collector, District Development Officer, Deputy Municipal Commissioner, Municipal Commissioner, District Collector, Director, Managing Director, Secretary, Commissioner, Joint Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, and Principal Secretary. His most recent position was Principal Secretary in the Revenue Department of Gujarat from April 1, 2001, to September 30, 2002.
