Joint Secretary, Agriculture and Cooperation Department
G P Varshney, born on March 10, 1939, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1983 batch of the Uttar Pradesh cadre. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science. During his career, he served in the Agriculture and Cooperation Department, most recently as Joint Secretary from July 1, 1992, to March 31, 1997. Prior to this, he held the position of Additional Director. His tenure in the IAS reflects his commitment to public administration within his cadre and department.
