G P Thakur, born on October 3, 1952, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1991 batch of the Maharashtra cadre. A graduate by education, he served in various capacities including Joint Secretary, District Collector, Director, and Municipal Commissioner. His most recent designation was Member Secretary in the Department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperative, Maharashtra. Throughout his career, Thakur contributed to the administration of Maharashtra state before retiring from service.
