G Kameswara Rao, born on March 5, 1955, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1983 Tripura cadre. He holds a postgraduate degree in Botany, along with a Diploma and Certificate in Forestry. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Senior Fellow, Principal Secretary to the Governor, Chief Vigilance Officer, Additional Executive Director, Commissioner & Secretary, and District Collector and Magistrate. His most recent position was Chief Secretary to the Government in the General Administration Department from July 31, 2014, to March 31, 2015.
