G Kalpana, an IAS officer from the 1987 Karnataka cadre, was born on April 25, 1962. She holds postgraduate degrees in English and Public Policy, along with a graduate degree in English. Over her career, she has served in various capacities including Director General at Mysuru, Karnataka from April 1, 2016, and held multiple leadership roles such as Principal Secretary to Government, Chairman, Managing Director, Commissioner, and Deputy Commissioner. She has also worked as Officer on Special Duty to Minister and Assistant Commissioner. She retired from the Indian Administrative Service and was associated with the Netaji Subhas Administrative Training Institute.
