G Kalpana, an IAS officer of the 1987 Karnataka cadre, was born on April 25, 1962. She holds postgraduate degrees in English and Public Policy, along with a graduate degree in English. Throughout her career, she served in various capacities including Director General at Mysuru, Karnataka from April 1, 2016, and held roles such as Principal Secretary to Government, Chairman, Managing Director, Commissioner, Chief Executive Officer, Deputy Commissioner, and Officer on Special Duty to Minister. She retired from the Indian Administrative Service and was associated with the Neta ji Subhas Administrative Training Institute.
