Dr. Ajay Kumar, an IAS officer of the 2006 Gujarat cadre, was born on September 6, 1979. He holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Agriculture, an M.Sc. in Agronomy from IARI New Delhi, and a Ph.D. in Agronomy from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. Currently serving as Secretary to the Chief Minister of Gujarat since December 22, 2025, his past roles include Joint Secretary, Special Commissioner, District Collector, District Development Officer, Assistant Collector, and multiple terms as Private Secretary to Ministers. He is proficient in English, Hindi, and Gujarati. Dr. Kumar remains in active service.
