Dipankar Basu, born on 26 September 1942, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1966 Gujarat cadre. He held the position of Member Secretary in Gujarat from 20 September 2004 to 30 September 2007. His extensive career includes roles such as Secretary (PG & Coordination), Chairman, Additional Secretary, Principal Secretary, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, Joint Secretary, Resident Commissioner, Development Commissioner, Director, Deputy Secretary, District Development Officer, Under Secretary, and Assistant Collector. He served in the Affairs Appellate Authority for Industrial & Financial Reconstruction (AAIFR). His academic qualifications include a postgraduate degree in Public Administration, an MBA in Law, and an M.Phil. in Economics.
