Dipankar Basu, born on September 26, 1942, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1966 Gujarat cadre. He holds postgraduate degrees in Public Administration, MBA Law, and an M.Phil. in Economics. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Member Secretary at Gujarat from September 20, 2004, to September 30, 2007. His extensive service record includes roles such as Secretary (PG & Coordination), Chairman, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, Joint Secretary, Resident Commissioner, Development Commissioner, Director, Deputy Secretary, District Development Officer, Under Secretary, and Assistant Collector. He was associated with the Affairs Appellate Authority for Industrial & Financial Reconstruction (AAIFR).
