Dinesh T. Waghmare, a 1994 batch IAS officer of the Maharashtra cadre, was born on 26 June 1965. He holds a B.E. from Nagpur University, an M.Tech. from IIT Kharagpur, and a Master's from the University of Bradford. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Municipal Commissioner, District Collector, Divisional Commissioner, and Principal Secretary. He received multiple awards for excellence in administration, revenue recovery, small savings, and election management. Most recently, he was appointed State Election Commissioner of Maharashtra from 15 January 2025. He is proficient in English, Hindi, and Marathi. He is currently retired from service.
