Dinesh T. Waghmare, a 1994 batch IAS officer of the Maharashtra cadre, was born on 26 June 1965. He holds a B.E. from Nagpur University, an M.Tech. from IIT Kharagpur, and a master's degree from the University of Bradford. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Principal Secretary, Municipal Commissioner, Managing Director, Divisional Commissioner, District Collector, and Member Secretary. He received multiple awards for excellence in administration, industry support, and election management. He retired as the State Election Commissioner of Maharashtra, a position he assumed on 15 January 2025. He is proficient in English, Hindi, and Marathi.
