Dinesh Singh, born on 18 June 1958, is a retired IAS officer from the 1982 batch of the Uttar Pradesh cadre. He holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Himachal Pradesh University, an M.A. in History from Panjab University, and an LL.B. from the University of Lucknow. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including District Collector and Magistrate, Divisional Commissioner, Joint Secretary, Special Secretary, Additional Secretary, and Vice Chancellor. His most recent role was Secretary of the Rural Development Department from September 2016 to June 2018.
