Dharmendra Sharma, born on September 10, 1963, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1988 batch of the A G M U T cadre. He has served in various capacities including Secretary, Joint Secretary, Private Secretary, Commissioner & Secretary, Director, Deputy Secretary, and Finance Secretary. His most recent position was Director General at the Election Commission of India from April 12, 2019, to November 29, 2024. He holds graduate degrees in History and Law, as well as a postgraduate degree in Law. He is proficient in English and Hindi.
