Dharmendra Sharma, born on 10 September 1963, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1988 batch of the AGMUT cadre. He served most recently as Director General at the Election Commission of India from 12 April 2019 to 29 November 2024. His educational qualifications include a graduate degree in History, a graduate degree in Law, and a postgraduate degree in Law. Throughout his career, he held various positions such as Secretary, Joint Secretary, Private Secretary, Commissioner & Secretary, Director, Deputy Secretary, and Finance Secretary. He is proficient in English and Hindi.
