Deepak Prasad, born on September 1, 1960, is a retired IAS officer from the 1989 Bihar cadre. He holds a postgraduate degree in Medicine. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Managing Director, Secretary, Commissioner, Additional Secretary, Special Chief Election Commissioner, Additional Chief Election Commissioner, Administration Officer, District Collector and Magistrate, District Magistrate, Joint Secretary, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, and Sub-Divisional Officer. His most recent position was Principal Secretary in the Consumer Affairs Department from April 12, 2016, to February 14, 2017.
