Deepak Kumar, born on February 3, 1960, is a retired IAS officer from the 1984 Bihar cadre. He holds a B.Tech. in Civil Engineering and a postgraduate degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including District Collector and Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Officer, Joint Secretary, Principal Secretary, Secretary, and Director General. His most recent role was Chairman of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) from June 27, 2017, to May 17, 2018. Deepak Kumar’s extensive administrative experience spans multiple senior positions within the Indian Administrative Service.
