D V Prasad, born on 15 November 1960, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1984 Karnataka cadre. He holds graduate and postgraduate degrees in History. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Additional Chief Secretary, Development Commissioner, Principal Secretary, Secretary to the Chief Minister, and Chief Secretary. His most recent role was Chairman and Managing Director, Secretary Equivalent in the Department of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, New Delhi, from January 2019 to November 2020. His extensive experience spans multiple leadership positions across state and central government departments.
