D S Murty, born on 30 October 1945, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1984 Andhra Pradesh cadre. He holds postgraduate degrees in Geophysics, Geology, and a PG Diploma in Ecology. Throughout his career, Murty served in various capacities including Additional Commissioner, Commissioner, Director, Joint Secretary, Secretary to the Chief Minister, Joint Collector, and Joint Commissioner. His most recent position was Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister in the General Administration Department from 25 August 2005 to 31 October 2005.
