D M Sukthankar, born on 21 February 1932, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1956 Maharashtra cadre. He holds graduate and postgraduate degrees in Commerce. Throughout his career, Sukthankar served in various capacities including Assistant Collector, Under Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Director, Special Commissioner, Municipal Commissioner, District Collector, and Secretary in multiple departments. His most recent position was Chief Secretary to the Government of Maharashtra in the General Administration Department (Personnel). His extensive service reflects a broad administrative experience within the Maharashtra state government.
