Dr. D Karthikeyan, born on 12 May 1968, is a 1997 batch IAS officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre. He holds a Ph.D. in Statistics, along with graduate and M.Sc. degrees. Currently serving as Principal Secretary at Chennai in the Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department since 1 July 2023, Dr. Karthikeyan has held various positions including Principal Secretary to Governor, Member Secretary, Commissioner, District Collector, Chairman Director, Managing Director, Additional Secretary, Joint Secretary, Under Secretary, and Assistant Collector. He is proficient in English and Tamil and continues to serve in the Indian Administrative Service.
