Dr. D K Sankaran, born on April 21, 1947, is a retired IAS officer from the 1970 Maharashtra cadre. He holds a graduate degree in Economics, a Ph.D. in Political Science, and a postgraduate degree in Economics. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Secretary (Border Management), Additional Secretary, Principal Secretary, Chief Electoral Officer, Municipal Commissioner, Director, Member Secretary, District Collector, CEO, and SDO. His most recent position was Chief Secretary to the Government Secretary at Maharashtra in the General Administration Department. Dr. Sankaran's extensive service reflects his commitment to public administration in Maharashtra.
