D. Jagannathan, born on June 6, 1965, is a 2004 batch IAS officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre. He holds an M.Sc. and a Ph.D. Currently, he serves as the Commissioner at Chennai in the Commercial Taxes Department, a position he assumed on October 16, 2023. Throughout his career, he has held various significant roles including Secretary to Government, Managing Director, Director, and District Collector. He continues to serve in the Indian Administrative Service.
