Chaitanya Prasad, born on July 5, 1965, is a 1990 batch IAS officer of the Bihar cadre. He holds an M.Sc. in Physics from IIT. Currently, he serves as the Chief Inquiry Commissioner at Bihar since October 22, 2024. Throughout his career, he has held various positions including Assistant Collector, State Project Director, Principal Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary to the Governor and Government, District Collector and Magistrate, Joint Secretary, Secretary, Special Secretary, Vice Chairman, Managing Director, Administrator, and Deputy Development Commissioner. He is proficient in English and Hindi and continues to serve in the Indian Administrative Service.
