C Umamalleswara Rao, born on 15 December 1945, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1988 Andhra Pradesh cadre. He holds a graduate degree in Agriculture, a postgraduate qualification in Agriculture, and a Diploma in Cooperation. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including District Collector and Magistrate, Joint Secretary, Secretary, Special Secretary to the Chief Minister, and Managing Director. His most recent role was Commissioner in the Agriculture Department from 5 September 2004 to 31 December 2005. Rao’s extensive experience spans administrative, developmental, and managerial positions within the state government.
