C Umamalleswara Rao, born on 15 December 1945, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1988 Andhra Pradesh cadre. He holds a graduate degree in Agriculture, a postgraduate degree in Agriculture, and a Diploma in Cooperation. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including District Collector and Magistrate, Joint Secretary, Secretary, Special Secretary to the Chief Minister, and Managing Director. His most recent position was Commissioner in the Agriculture Department from 5 September 2004 to 31 December 2005. Rao’s extensive experience spans roles such as Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Additional Secretary, and Revenue Divisional Officer.
