C J Venugopal, born on 27 November 1964, is an Indian Administrative Service officer of the 1988 batch, Odisha cadre. He holds a B.Tech. in Civil Engineering from Autonomous Warangal and a PG Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. Currently, he serves as the Chief Administrator at Odisha-Bhubaneswar since 21 May 2021. Throughout his career, he has held various positions including Member, Principal Secretary to Government, Principal Secretary to Governor, Commissioner, Chairman & Managing Director, Managing Director, Director, Additional Secretary, Vice Chairman, District Collector, and Project Director. He is proficient in English, Hindi, Oriya, Telugu, and Odia.
