C J Ponraj, born on February 9, 1955, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1981 batch, Nagaland cadre. He holds a graduate degree in English and an MBA in Finance. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, Secretary, Commissioner & Secretary, Chief Electoral Officer, Resident Commissioner, and Special Secretary to the Governor. His most recent position was Chief Secretary to the Government in the General Administration Department from January 1 to February 28, 2015. Ponraj’s extensive experience spans multiple administrative roles at different levels within the state government.
