Biswajit Pegu, born on February 1, 1980, is an Indian Administrative Service officer from the 2009 Assam Meghalaya cadre. He holds a B.A. from Hindu College, Delhi, and an M.A. and M.Phil. from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Currently serving as Director at Assam in the Department of Census Operations and Citizen Registration since December 31, 2025, he has previously held the position of Commissioner & Secretary. Proficient in Assamese and English, Biswajit Pegu continues to contribute to public administration within his cadre.
