Throughout his career, he held several key positions, including Commissioner, Director, and Inspector General. His most recent role was Additional Secretary, a position he assumed on January 1, 2014. As a male IAS officer, Gangopadhyay contributed to the administrative framework of West Bengal until his retirement.
