Binod Kumar, born on February 6, 1974, is a 1996 batch Indian Administrative Service officer of the West Bengal cadre. He holds a B.Tech. and M.Tech. from IIT Kanpur. Currently serving as the Additional Chief Secretary in the School Education Department since March 7, 2026, he has previously held the position of Principal Secretary. Proficient in English and Hindi, Binod Kumar continues to contribute to public administration in West Bengal.
