Binod Kumar, born on February 6, 1974, is a 1996 batch IAS officer of the West Bengal cadre. He holds an M.Tech. and B.Tech. from IIT Kanpur. Currently, he serves as the Additional Chief Secretary in the Department of School Education, West Bengal, since April 2, 2026. Throughout his career, he has held various key positions, including Principal Secretary, Chief Executive Officer, Commissioner, Commercial Tax Commissioner, Managing Director, District Magistrate, and Assistant Magistrate.
