Bibekananda Sarkar, born on July 11, 1957, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1986 Punjab cadre. He holds a postgraduate degree in Zoology and a graduate degree in Botany. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Secretary, Commissioner, Special Secretary, Additional Secretary, Joint Secretary, Deputy Commissioner, Additional Director, Additional Deputy Commissioner, and Sub-Divisional Officer. His most recent position was Secretary in the Election Department from February 12, 2015, to July 31, 2017. Sarkar's extensive administrative experience spans multiple senior roles within the government.
