Bhawna Garg, born on 02/11/1976, is a 1999 batch IAS officer of the Punjab cadre. She holds a B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from IIT Kanpur and an M.P.A. in Public Policy from Princeton University, USA. Currently, she serves as the Principal Secretary in the Jails Department, Punjab, since 27/05/2025. Her extensive career includes roles such as Additional Commissioner, Under Secretary, Secretary to Government, Director, Deputy Secretary, Special Secretary, Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Deputy Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner, and Sub-Divisional Magistrate. She is proficient in English and Hindi and continues to serve in the Indian Administrative Service.
