Bhabani Prasad Barat, born on March 7, 1950, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1994 batch, West Bengal cadre. He served in various capacities including Junior Scale, Additional District Magistrate, District Magistrate, Joint Secretary, Managing Director, Commissioner, Member Secretary, Special Secretary, and Secretary. His most recent role was Officer on Special Duty to the Minister from April 1, 2010, to March 31, 2011. He also held the position of Special Secretary to the Government of West Bengal in the Howrah Municipal Corporation. Mr. Barat is a graduate and has had a distinguished administrative career.
