Basant Pratap Singh, born on July 1, 1958, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1984 Madhya Pradesh cadre. He holds a graduate and postgraduate degree in Philosophy. Over his career, he served in various capacities including District Collector, Deputy Secretary, Project Officer, Sub-Divisional Officer, Managing Director, Director, Joint Secretary, Additional Development Commissioner, Principal Secretary, Rehabilitation Commissioner, and Commissioner. His most recent position was Chief Secretary to the Government of Madhya Pradesh from July 1, 2018, to December 31, 2018. Singh’s extensive administrative experience spans multiple leadership roles within the Madhya Pradesh government.
