Barun Kumar Ray, born on 19 February 1967, is an Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1992 batch, West Bengal cadre. He holds an M.A. degree and is proficient in English and Hindi. Currently serving as the Additional Chief Secretary in the Non-Conventional and Renewable Energy Sources Department since 19 July 2024, he continues to contribute to the administrative framework of West Bengal. Mr. Ray remains an active member of the IAS, bringing his expertise to his role in the state government.
