Balwant Singh Chauhan, born on March 21, 1953, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1996 batch, Uttar Pradesh cadre. He served in the Department of Food and Public Distribution, holding the position of Additional Commissioner from May 20, 2006, to March 31, 2013. Prior to this, he was appointed as Regional Food Controller. His career in the IAS encompassed various responsibilities within the food distribution sector until his retirement.
