B Vijayan, born on 30 September 1954, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1982 batch of the A G M U T cadre. He holds a postgraduate degree in International Studies and a graduate degree in English. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including District Collector and Magistrate, Joint Secretary, Development Commissioner, and Principal Secretary. His most recent position was Chief Secretary to the Government in the General Administration Department from 13 August 2012 to 30 September 2014. His extensive service record reflects a broad range of administrative roles across multiple departments.
