B N S Roy, born on February 1, 1942, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1984 batch, West Bengal cadre. He holds a postgraduate degree in Ancient History. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Managing Director, Joint Secretary, District Collector, and Under Secretary. His most recent position was Director in the Department of Planning and Programme Implementation from April 12, 2000, to January 31, 2002.
