B K Rout, born on January 13, 1932, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1983 Odisha cadre. He held various positions throughout his career, including Junior Scale, Under Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Project Officer, S D O, and Director. Rout served as the Director of Census Operations in the Land Revenue Department. His most recent designation was Director, a role he held from July 1, 1988, to January 1, 1990. He holds a postgraduate degree and has contributed to the administrative framework of Odisha during his tenure in the IAS.
