B K Karan, born on June 5, 1939, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1983 Bihar cadre. He holds a graduate degree in Economics and a postgraduate degree in English. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Secretary, Director, District Collector and Magistrate, Joint Secretary, Chief Executive Officer, Managing Director, and Junior Scale. His most recent position was Additional Secretary in the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department from February 1, 1997, to June 30, 1997.
