B G Deshmukh, born on March 26, 1929, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1951 Maharashtra cadre. A graduate in Botany, he served in various capacities including Assistant Collector, District Collector, Under Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Joint Secretary, Additional Secretary, Secretary, Commissioner, Chief Secretary to Government, and Secretary at Maharashtra. He also held the position of Cabinet Secretary and served as OSD to Minister. His most recent designation was Secretary at Maharashtra. Deshmukh was associated with the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) during his service.
