Avinash Kumar, born on March 28, 1948, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1972 Gujarat cadre. He holds a graduate degree in Economics, a Ph.D. in Philosophy, and a postgraduate degree in Economics. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including District Collector, Managing Director, Deputy Secretary, Director, Joint Secretary, Commissioner, Principal Secretary, and Additional Chief Secretary. His most recent position was Additional Chief Secretary in the Agriculture and Cooperation Department, Gujarat, from January 31, 2006, to March 31, 2008.
