Atul Prasad, born on 13 February 1962, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1987 Bihar cadre. He served as Secretary General in the Social Justice and Empowerment Department from 28 April 2017 to 28 February 2022. His educational qualifications include a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur, a PG Diploma in Financial Management from Indira Gandhi National Open University, and a Certificate in Public Administration from Syracuse University. Throughout his career, he held various positions such as Sub-Divisional Officer, Joint Secretary, Municipal Commissioner, District Collector and Magistrate, and Principal Secretary. He was awarded the 1991 Census Silver Medal.
