Atul Bagai, born on March 5, 1959, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1983 Uttar Pradesh cadre. He holds a postgraduate degree in History, a B.A. Honours in History, and a Diploma in Labour Laws. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Assistant Collector, Sub Divisional Officer, Under Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Director, Joint Director, Joint Development Commissioner, Controller, Joint Secretary, District Collector, and Private Secretary. His most recent role was Regional Officer at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) from July 12, 2000, to March 31, 2019.
