Asoke Basak, born on May 7, 1943, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1967 Maharashtra cadre. He holds postgraduate degrees in Business Administration and Geology, along with a graduate degree in Geology. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including District Collector, Managing Director, Secretary, Additional Secretary, Principal Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, and Chairman. His most recent position was Chairman of the State Electricity Regulatory Commission, Maharashtra. Basak's extensive administrative experience spans multiple senior roles within the state government, reflecting a long and diverse tenure in public service.
