Ashwani Kumar, born on January 1, 1968, is a 1992 batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre. He holds a B.E. in Electrical Engineering and an M.A. in International Development from Duke University. Currently, he serves as the Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) in the Power Development Department of Jammu and Kashmir since February 23, 2026. He has previously held the position of Commissioner. Proficient in English and Hindi, Ashwani Kumar continues to contribute to the Indian Administrative Service.
