Ashwani Kumar, born on April 28, 1975, is a 1997 batch Indian Administrative Service officer of the Gujarat cadre. He holds a B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering and an M.Sc. in Public Services Policy and Management. Currently, he serves as the Principal Secretary of the Energy and Petrochemicals Department, Gujarat, a position he assumed on December 22, 2025. Throughout his career, he has held various key roles including Principal Secretary, Secretary to the Chief Minister, Managing Director, Chief Electoral Officer, Municipal Commissioner, District Collector, and Assistant Collector. He is proficient in English, Gujarati, and Hindi. Ashwani Kumar is presently in service.
