Ashok Bhatia, born on 17 December 1941, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1965 Gujarat cadre. He holds a graduate degree in Philosophy and a postgraduate degree in History. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including District Collector, Municipal Commissioner, Deputy Secretary, Joint Secretary, Managing Director, and Principal Secretary. His most recent position was Additional Chief Secretary at Gujarat’s General Administration Department from April to December 2001. Bhatia’s extensive administrative experience spans multiple senior roles within the Gujarat government, culminating in his leadership as Additional Chief Secretary before retirement.
