Ashish Kumar, born on 09/01/1980, is an Indian Administrative Service officer from the 2005 Tamil Nadu cadre. Currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Home Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi (since 21/10/2021), he holds a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Rajiv Gandhi Prodyogiki Vishvavidyalaya, an M.A. in Public Policy from Indira Gandhi National Open University, and qualifications from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India. His past roles include Additional Resident Commissioner, Private Secretary to Minister of State, Officer on Special Duty to MOS, Deputy Secretary, District Collector, and various commissioner and collector positions. He is proficient in English and Hindi
