Arti Kanwar, an IAS officer of the 2001 Gujarat cadre, was born on August 5, 1975. She holds a Graduate and M.A. in History from Delhi University and a Masters in International Development Public Policy from Duke University, USA. Currently, she serves as Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Textiles, New Delhi, since April 1, 2026. Her past roles include Chief Commissioner, Secretary to Government, Resident Commissioner, Special Commissioner, Commissioner, Deputy Jute Commissioner, State Project Director, District Collector, and Municipal Commissioner. She has received awards such as the Digital India Award Gold and recognition for outstanding support in GST laws. She is proficient in English, Hindi, and Gujarati.
